Latest Coronavirus Guidance across the Parish

Coronavirus: How it will affect Church Life

Any important updates to our church life will be posted on this page.

All public worship services, activities and events have been suspended until further notice and St. Mary’s Church is closed.

Whilst the church buildings are closed, our work in this community continues:

The Eucharist will go on being offered on Sundays and other days, although in private.

Baptisms and Weddings may not take place in church until government regulations are lifted. We do not know how long this will be in force but are contacting everyone who has a wedding or a baptism booked. Where baptism needs to take place in an emergency please contact the Rector.

Funerals can take place at crematoria or the graveside, with immediate family only present and social distancing measures strictly followed. We encourage people to plan larger memorial services to be held later. Please contact the Rector as soon as you can to discuss the options.

Telephone Contact Ministry is being put in place. This is for everyone who would like to be contacted and particularly for those without internet access who may feel isolated and cut off.  Please contact the Rector if you would like to be included. You do not need to be a church member or a Christian.

Volunteering and Getting Help. Chiddingfold has an established network in place known as the Good Neighbours’ Scheme (GNS), which provides a contact for every part of the parish.  The GNS is coordinating local offers of support and requests for assistance. It connects volunteers with those needing assistance and provides local information, including details on shops and services that can offer home delivery. To volunteer or to get support contact
