Sunday Services

8 am Holy Communion (1662 BCP, every Sunday)
This is a quiet and traditional service of Holy Communion, according to the Book of Common Prayer, with a short address. It lasts approximately 45 minutes, and breakfast is served afterwards on the 3rd Sunday of each month.

10am Parish Communion
This is a more contemporary celebration of Holy Communion using an updated liturgy, yet retaining many of the traditional elements that create a sense of dignity, awe and reverence.

A full robed choir led by our dedicated Organist and Choir Master, greatly enhance our main weekly corporate act of worship.

Children are most welcome, and are included at the beginning and end of this service . A flourishing Sunday school and Crèche operate throughout, which parents are invited, but not obliged, to use.  Follow the link to find out more about Youth and Children's work.

This service lasts approximately 70 minutes, and refreshments are served afterwards.

6.30pm Evensong (1662, 1st Sunday only)
This is a traditional service of Evensong according to the Book of Common Prayer, with hymns and a short address. Sometimes this is replaced by a special service.

Weekday Services

Tuesday 5.00pm – Evening Prayer
Led by members of the congregation and by clergy, all are welcome to attend  (20 mins).

Wednesday 9.30am Holy Communion
This is a simple said service of Holy Communion, with prayer and silence, held within the part of the church that is our peaceful and ancient Chapel. This service lasts approximately 45 minutes, and has been described as ‘an oasis of peace in the middle of the week’.

 

Saturday 9.00am – Morning Prayer
Led by members of the congregation and by clergy, all are welcome to attend (just 20 mins)

Special Services

Some of our special services include -

Mothering Sunday held on the third Sunday of Lent - all mothers are presented with a posy.

Harvest Festival - held at the beginning of October - a time to give thanks for all we have and to give to those less fortunate than ourselves.

Remembrance Sunday - members of village uniformed organisations, Royal British Legion and Women's Section, representatives from HMS Chiddingfold and Council members join the congregation in a special service and act of remembrance at the village War Memorial located at the front of the church for all to see.

St Mary's School and the Village Nursery School hold services in the church such as New Beginnings in September.

Christingle held on the third Sunday of Advent - all hear the story of the symbolic Christingle and are given one to take home.
